The 'eyes' have it. They have attention-getting ability like no other facial feature and they are the windows to our soul (and age), so we always want our eyes to look their best. These makeup tricks will help create the illusion of bigger, brighter and younger looking eyes so we can grab and hold onto the attention we desire.
Make Eye Look Bigger
If you have small eyes, a deep color eye shadow color washed over the entire lid and extended out to the corner of the eye will make the eyes look bigger. Sweep the color over the ld, extending outward towards the corners and as close as possible to the lower lash lines.
Coat eye lashes with at least two coats of mascara after applying the deep colored eye shadow. Two coats of mascara gives a bold definition that will hi-light your 'bigger' eyes.
Make Eyes Look Brighter
Eyes that are deep-set or eyes that are prominent need a little brightening up to give them the 'WOW' factor. These light reflecting makeup tricks can do just that.
For deep set eyes, choose an off-white shadow and use a tiny makeup brush to create a sideways V in the corner of the eye near the tear ducts. Slightly smudge the shadow with finger tip, then apply other makeup as usual (don't cover-up the white shadow). This eye brightening makeup trick brings light into an area where deep set eyes tend to have dark shadows.
To brighten prominent eyes, use the same off-white shadow after all eye makeup has been applied. Use a tiny brush of fingertip to sweep the off-white shadow from the center of the lid to the inner corner. This makeup trick adds a shimmer and brightens up the entire eye.
Make Eyes Look Younger
Puffy eyes with dark circles add years to the face, make those eyes look younger (and your whole face) with these makeup tricks. Before applying makeup, get rid of as much of the puffiness as possible with a cooling treatment. Place something cool over the eyes, like cucumber slices or chilled spoons, for ten minutes. This will reduce the swelling.
Follow the cooling treatment with concealer dabbed under the eyes, but not directly on the puffy areas, that will only hi-light the problem. Start dabbing concealer from the inner corner of the eye, moving down under the puffiness to the outer eye corner. Dabbing gently and blending concealer thoroughly.
