Need Some Tips on How to Look Your Best on a Budget? Here Are the Top Ten Ways to Stay in a Budget and Still Look Fabulous!
Are you trying to look and feel your best, but finding money is getting tighter and tighter? Well, here are a few budget beauty tips to help moms stretch their dollars. Trust, me I know how hard it is to change up the beauty routine with new products and new ideas. But you may be surprised that you can either find your favorite products for cheaper or just find an inexpensive alternative. In addition, I've also got some tips about how moms can cut their haircut bill.
Shop Online
You can usually find everything cheaper by shopping online. For example, I love Mary Kay products, but sometimes I just can't afford to spend that kind of money. You can usually save at least 20 to 30% when you buy MK products on eBay and Amazon. The same would hold true for just about any brand name beauty product you can think of.
Haircuts on a Budget
A good haircut can be very pricey, especially if you need a color too. I do have a regular stylist that I love; however, sometimes in between major cuts, I will go to a budget hair cutting shop. I would totally recommend going to one of these budget places for trims and touch-ups to your current hairstyle. Another reason why these budget places are a good option is because you don't need an appointment. You can just walk in whenever it's convenient for your busy schedule.
Look for closeouts
You can find great deals on closeout items at your local supermarkets and drugstores. These are products that the stores are selling at a huge discount because they're no longer going to be carrying these products. One of my local stores was doing an organic beauty supply closeout and the deals were awesome. I've also gotten some great lipsticks at drugstores, on closeout, for under a dollar. If you ever pass by one of these tables, I highly recommend checking them out.
Buy in Bulk
If your favorite beauty product is available in bulk, stock up. You'll usually save around 20-25% at the warehouse stores. Plus, you save time because you'll be well-stocked on your item for awhile. As all moms know, time is equally as important as money.
Aveda Institutes
Check and see if you have an Aveda Institute in your town. You can get a huge assortment of hair and spa services at a discounted rate because your services will be performed by a student at the Aveda Institute. Don't worry about it being a student because according to the Aveda Institute, all services are performed by students under the supervision of licensed educators.
Alternate your beauty routine
As I stated earlier, I love my Mary Kay products, but my wallet doesn't. A great way to make your expensive products last longer is to alternate them with an inexpensive product. For example, I found this great and inexpensive product that I use, it's called Clean & Clear Facial Wash by Johnson & Johnson, and it costs under $5. I alternate this Clean & Clear cleanser with my Mary Kay cleanser.
Hair Bands/Headbands
If your hair is starting to grow out and you're trying to make it look nice until your next haircut, try a hair band. You can get very nice ones at the Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart. These are very simple and cheap accessories that can really make your hair look nice.
Dye Your Own Hair
Having your hair dyed at a salon can get very pricey. If you're looking for some good inexpensive hair dyes, here are a couple of good ones to try, Clairol and Garnier Nutrisse . They both run about $5.99-$6.99 a box.
Facial Exercises
Instead of spending thousands of dollars and having major cosmetic surgery, how about trying some facial exercises to firm and tone up the muscles on your face and neck. Here is a link to an incredible website, shapeyourface.com that has five different exercises for toning up those muscles. You will target the muscles under your eyes, mouth, chin, front of neck, and scalp.
